variables in URL-path

Hi
I'm using jMeter 1.9 and have the following problem:
Variables ( ${..} ) are resolved correctly within parameters, but not
within the URL-path.
It works only correctly, if I add a HTTP URL Re-writing Modifier plus
check "Path Extension". But unfortunately then I get this ugly (and
unwished) ";<session argument name>" at the end of the URL-path.

How to get resolved variables in path without ;.. ?
Is there any way?

Thanks in advance
Heiko

Things I did are quite easy:

--thread group
   |
   ---http request1
      |
--- regular expression extractor (there I get sessionID from the
request response)
   |
   ---http request2
          path: /myapp/${sessionID_g1}/start
          parameter: sessionID: ${sessionID_g1}

1. parameter works fine
2. path works only, if I add a HTTP URL Re-writing Modifier, as described
below. And then the system adds ";" at the end of the path (before
parameters). So application server get problems.

Any hint?
Thanks
Heiko
