[jira] [Created] (AVRO-1125) Java: reflect package documentation discourages use

Doug Cutting created AVRO-1125:
----------------------------------

Summary: Java: reflect package documentation discourages use
                 Key: AVRO-1125
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-1125
             Project: Avro
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: doc, java
            Reporter: Doug Cutting
            Assignee: Doug Cutting
             Fix For: 1.7.1

The package-level documentation for org.apache.avro.reflect says:

bq. This API is not recommended except as a stepping stone for systems that currently uses Java interfaces to define RPC protocols.

That seems overly cautious. Folks are productively using Avro's reflect API in lots of other ways.
