Primary Functional Goals of Web-Grid

The primary functional goals of the OODT Web-Grid are to provide search
services that can be consumed by users who desire to search for scientific
data by describing it in textual form. The text that indicates the
scientific
data of interest is represented as a query object that is defined in the
standard XML. In order to support the users desire to search for such
information, the OODT Web-Grid provides Profile and Product Server
components that organizational entities utilize. The Profile and Product
Server components provide the ability for organizational entities to attach
handlers that provide services that are consumed by the OODT Web-Grid
framework. The services provided by the handlers, where the query object
is passed to the handler, support a users query and delivery of scientific
informational data.

Hi BW,

I think that the below makes sense if you adapt this:

To say:

The primary functional goals of the OODT Web-Grid are to provide
*information integration* services

(without the "*"s)

download, subset, and retrieve data and metadata

by describing the data of interest by an XML query
specified via a text string.

The above looks good!
