Adding a text to the splash screen and About box to remember the users about
some facts:
Apache OpenOffice is Open Source Software and therefore available free of
charge with no license fees. Remember always download the software from its

For the About box it would look like the following:

The text will have to be adjusted a bit, since (while in practice this is true
of any major software) Open Source does not necessarily imply "free of charge".
We may want to have a short version for the Splash (if any) like

I do like the idea of having that text in the About box.
As it would create new strings this would be a task we could combine with
synchronizing new translations from Pootle.
I would not like it in the splash screen.
It is only visible for a short time, users can hardly read the text and it is
impossible to follow the link.
The splash screen should stay simple.
BTW: The link is wrong, it should be https://download.openoffice.org or
https://openoffice.org/download
