How to sync two folders and preserve empty subfolders, but delete obsolete ones?

<copy> with <delete> works fine except for empty directories. I am able to
delete all empty directories or preserve all of them regardless whether they
exist in original folder. How can I delete only folders that do not exist in
the original folder?
