Involving in new Apache project

Hello, 

I would like to get involved in the latest project which you are undertaking. I am no expert but I am familar Struts, Xerces and other small projects like Commons and DBCP. 

Please let me know if I am eligible to get involved. Also, please provide me with information to get started. Thank you.
