How to set the initialSize of Pool ?

Hi all,
 The DBCP documentation
(http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dbcp/configuration.html) shows that
we can set the initialSize of a pool from 1.2.
I am lost as to where and & how can we set this property. None of the
xxxxxxObjectPool classes from commons-pool-1.2 accept initialSize as a
property.

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
