In parent issue, its suggested we update our checkstyle plugin to match of intellij plugin default at least.  Will need checkstyle.xml changes else it fails parse (See notes in parent by [~bharathv] on what needs doing).

For extra points, do the [~ndimiduk] suggestion: "...It would be nice also if we could commit the .idea/checkstyle-idea.xml file with the checkstyle version used buy the plugin pinned to the same version as we're using in maven."
