extending the cocoon access log

Hi,

Is there any way of getting cocoon to add additional parameters to the 
access.log that is configured? I would for example would like to log a 
uniqueID that is passed with the request as requestparameter (POST)

Should i be looking to extend cocoontargetfactory? Or implement a 
component to do this? Sticking apache in front of tomcat is not an option.
