[GitHub] [cassandra] rgroothuijsen opened a new pull request #612: CASSANDRA-14811: Always set RPC_READY flag when starting/stopping native transport
rgroothuijsen opened a new pull request #612:
URL: https://github.com/apache/cassandra/pull/612
Currently, the `RPC_READY` flag behaves in an inconsistent manner, which includes not updating when the native transport is started/stopped, and not showing up at all if a node is started with `cassandra.start_native_transport` set to `false`. This PR fixes these cases by explicitly setting the `RPC_READY` flag in each case.
Bug reproduction scenarios:
1. Start a node with `cassandra.start_native_transport` set to `true` and issue the `disablebinary` command. When issuing the `gossipinfo` command, the flag remains `true` in the `gossipinfo` output.
2. Start a node with `cassandra.start_native_transport` set to `false`. When issuing the `gossipinfo` command, the flag does not appear in the output.
3. Same as scenario 2, but issue the `enablebinary` command. The flag still does not appear.
