NotEnoughReplicasException: Messages are rejected since there are fewer in-sync replicas than required..

Hi there,

While rolling deploying SSL changes to get Kafka working over SSL + inter broker protocol updated from SASL_PLAINTEXT to SSL, getting like problems to publish messages with:

org.apache.kafka.common.errors.NotEnoughReplicasException: Messages are rejected since there are fewer in-sync replicas than required..

With configuration:

default.replication.factor=3

min.insync.replicas=2

num.replica.fetchers=1

offsets.topic.replication.factor=3

Expected? I couldn’t say when exactly happened, but for sure having a few nodes still pending to release, and a few ones already released (note we have a cluster with 5 nodes).

Those messages are retried, or finally lost to publish?

Maybe we could tune up a little bit our broker configuration?
