[jira] Commented: (INFRA-3505) enable code formatting in JIRA for Apache Qpid

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-3505?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13005121#comment-13005121 ]

Sebb commented on INFRA-3505:
-----------------------------

Just a warning - enabling code formatting could make some existing issues difficult to read when some plain text is suddenly interpreted as formatting.

Sorry, don't have any examples to hand, but I know there were some Commons issues I had to edit to make readable, as the poster had not realised which characters were special.

> It has been requested that we have code formatting enabled for the Qpid JIRA, as other projects have this feature and so when attempting to comment similarly on our JIRA it ends up looking a bit poor.
> Example of it not working:
> https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-2693?focusedCommentId=12964691&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-12964691
> Examples of it working for other projects:
> https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLI-156
> I had a look in our JIRA administration view and see no way to configure this ourselves, so could you possibly oblige?
> Thanks,
> Robbie
