   The community has not chimed in on this in over a month. Given no objections, I'm going to move this out of scope and into Future, as I don't think this is necessary for our 4.x release.
   
   (Aside: I personally hope a future post-4.x release can finally drop older TFM support so that this is unnecessary anyways. But that's a longer, separate discussion and doesn't need to be debated here.)
