The new oplog creation logic adds the current oplog for compaction, before creating the new oplog. If there is any failure with the new oplog creation, the compactor may have started compacting the old oplog; which could result in ticket# GEODE-3215. During new oplog creating its better to add the old/current oplog for compaction after successfully creating the new oplog.
