   Thanks for the work on this PR and sorry for the delay!
   
   I pushed a small update to align the conversion logic with Java to avoid further delay:
   - use hive.metastore.table.owner
   - map variant to unknown
   - translate gc.enabled to external.table.purge
   - keep standard properties like comment and location
   - reject empty metadata_location
   - fix bundled/system Thrift header selection
