SyslogAppender facility.level
Hi,
I'm trying to get log4j to raise Tivoli alerts by using SyslogAppender. I
can raise a Tivoli alert by executing the Solaris shell command,
"/usr/ucb/logger -p local0.err -t <specially formatted message>". The man
page for logger states the following for the -p option:
Enter the message with the specified priority. The
message priority can be specified numerically, or as a
facility.level pair
SyslogAppender lets me specify the facility but not a facility.level pair so
my questions are:
- How can I supply SyslogAppender with a facility.level pair?
- Is there any other way of raising Tivoli alerts using log4j?
TIA
Dan
