(Draft) Annotator Podling Report - October 2016

Annotator

Annotator provides annotation enabling code for browsers, servers, and
humans.

Annotator has been incubating since 2016-08-30.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. Setup project infrastructure at the ASF

  2. Migrate existing community to the ASF

  3. Engage committers listed in our Proposal to plan next steps

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be aware
of?

None at this time.

How has the community developed since the last report?

The community has established support for incubation and initial committers
and mentors have been added to project email lists.

How has the project developed since the last report?

Project code identified in our Proposal remains under active development
with some components having achieved new version milestones in the last
month.

Committers are working to establish a web presence and code collaboration
on ASF infrastructure.

Date of last release:

NA

When were the last committers or PMC members elected?

NA

I think we'll need a Mentor's assistance here, afaict.

Fixed in a revision to the incubator site:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1763447

It shows in staging:
http://incubator.staging.apache.org/projects/annotator.html

But I get an error when publishing to production--probably I don't have permission to do that...maybe?

Thanks for the help, Randall!

Daniel and Jim may be missing from dev@ last I checked. If either of you
wish to subscribe to that, please do so.

It seems to me we're at step 5 of podling creation:
http://www.apache.org/dev/infra-contact#requesting-podling

Our status page has an incorrect (speculative) git address. It should read "
git-wip-us.apache.org" [1] rather than "git.apache.org".

This is something you can just add to the wiki (though it's good
to post here for discussion/review first, precisely as you did).

This time, I've cut&paste it in. I was doing another podling,
and saw that annotator was still blank, despite you two having
produced a good report.

Randall, this draft looks great to me.

Mentors, do we need your sign-off prior to adding to the wiki? Or do you do that elsewhere in the process?

Thanks!

Benjamin
