faster load times?

I noticed that subsequent views (reloads) of the same svg graphic can be almost 50% faster in some instances. Is there someway to load a group of svg's "in the background" when an application is loading up, so that when the user goes to actually request documents, they are actually only waiting for these "reload" times?

Second, is there someway to by-pass some steps in the load process, so that one can speed up the load time for a few documents? Can one load it as a SVG Document object etc., so that only rendering has to occur and not the document load steps?

thanks,
Neil
