XMLPS is not a LargeProductHandler?

For anyone familiar with XMLPS, LargeProductHandler, and Grid (that means
you, Sean Kelly!),

After digging around in XMLPS and talking to Chris, I have deduced that
XMLPS is *not* implemented as a "LargeProductHandler." It serves query
results by jamming everything into a string and adding that to the XMLQuery.

Chris says that the way Grid is implemented, this isn't an issue for sending
the data once the results are passed to Grid, but he agrees with me that --
in theory -- XMLPS could choke while building the resulting string, if the
ResultSet returned by the database is large enough. Does this seem
reasonable, or am I missing something?

Assuming it is, I'm saying this mostly as a heads up. My current plan is
not to address this unless I encounter a situation in which XMLPS chokes.

That's my understanding, too.

+1. Let's start small, and grow big. Adaptive patches along the way breed incremental, and understandable, change :)

Cheers,
Chris
