[jira] [Created] (LOG4J2-47) java.security.AccessControlException:
access denied when the rolling file appender needs to switch to a new log
file.
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied when the rolling file appender needs to switch to a new log file.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: LOG4J2-47
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-47
Project: Log4j 2
Issue Type: Bug
Environment: OS Windows
Reporter: Yuliya Taskina
We have experienced several times a AccessControlException from log4j logging methods (i.e. debug, info, warn, etc) when the rolling file appender needs to switch to a new log file.
The problem is that Windows holds a lock on the log file, preventing log4j from renaming it to an archive version.

This is for Log4J 2.0- which is currently in my private, experimental branch? If this is for Log4J 1.x please close this issue and use the bugzilla system.
