Tomcat 4.0.4 shuts down without error

Summary: Tomcat 4.0.4 shuts down without error
           Product: Tomcat 4
           Version: 4.0.4 Final
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Critical
          Priority: Other
         Component: Catalina
        AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: rpandhe@linear.com

I have Tomcat 4.0.4 running with JRE 1.3.1 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3.
Once every day or two the Server shuts down without any error in the logs.
stdout.log simply says..."Starting Service Tomcat-IIS Apache Tomcat/4.0.4"
stderr.log has nothing.
If the JRE 1.3.1 is causing this, how do I see the JRE error messages.

Tomcat was running standalone. Since it failed often, I have configured it as a
service now, and I still see the Restart messages. However I have configured
the service to restart automatically.

Any pointers?
