DO NOT REPLY [Bug 48365] New: Log4J DailyRollingFileAppender sometimes does not log ERROR to file

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48365

Summary: Log4J DailyRollingFileAppender sometimes does not log
                    ERROR to file
           Product: Log4j
           Version: 1.2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Appender
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: luane@vine.co.za

We use the log4j.xml config file with a DailyRollingFileAppender specified.

It works fine, until an error ocurrs.

Sometimes it logs the Errors to the DailyFile (our destination file),
but other days it does not.

It is quite frustrating as we do not know what is causing the Error, as we
have no info in our DailyFile.

What could be the possible reason for this?

Is this a common issue? Or are we doing something wrong?
