HSSFSerialzer and fonts

For some reason the HSSFSerializer does not seem to honor the font specified
in the XML below (Broadway). I have stared
at this for awhile but cannot see the problem.

Does anybody know of a problem related to this. I saw a post in another
group in December that looked like it might
be related. I think this is the link.
