Socket timeout tomcat 3.3.1

    Is it possible to set a timeout  to the sockets opened  between 
 http processes and  tomcat? (tomcat 3.3.1 using ajp13)
    I want to force the disconection from apache if the request is 
answered to slowly by tomcat.
