Summary: getName on Appender returns null
           Product: Log4j
           Version: 1.2
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Appender
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: daboe1@gmail.com

Javadoc on Log4j appender class states that getName returns a `unique
identifier' for that appender. However, the implementation of AppenderSkeleton
just returns the contents of the field `name', and subclasses fail to call
setName() to assign a `unique identifier'
