AW: Query on FlexUnit Automation Testing Tool

Posted by Christofer Dutz <ch...@c-ware.de>.
Hi Rajveer,

may I ask what your intention is writing these enquiry emails to this list and privately regarding FlexUnit?

It sort of feels like you have been assigned the task of evaluating something and you are relaying the questions to this list. I for my part don't really feel motivated to answer questions, if I am having the impression the person asking didn't try answering them for himself before asking ... but nevertheless ... here goes:

1. Yes you can use it, depending on your definition of functional testing ... but is it ideal for this ... I'd say No
2. http://tutorials.digitalprimates.net/flexunit/Unit-3.html
3. The type of reporting depends on how FlexUnit is run ... IDE, Ant Build, Maven Build, ... all forms are different
4. No
5. You can get support from us ... if you ask nice ... or you do it yourself (I won't be answering to any private: "When can I call you and you help me with XYZ?" ... so don't be surprised I didn't answer to our last private mail)
6. Yes and No ... depends on what you want to do ... for automated tests with clicking, typing, dragging & dropping, I'd have a look at selenium webdriver.

So I hope I didn't offend you with speaking freely about why I didn't want to respond and responses from this list have probably been sparse. Apache is all about community, if you have a problem, we will gladly help if you ask nicely (For me a list of questions doesn't really satisfy this requirement). Personally I will help wherever I can if I have the impression the person asking invested some of his time investigating himself. I have enough work so I don't have the time to do the work of others for them ;-)

Chris
