NFS Guides

Anyone have any good NFS guidelines? Have had some I/O blocking issues on
the NFS server we have set up and want to know if there's anything more we
can do to tune it.

It was so bad at one point that the heartbeat failed to check in and
rebooted a few hosts (thus liberating the I/O bottleneck for the others and
preventing them from rebooting as well)

Thanks for any advice,

- Ian

Do you have any metric graphs in place? The usual steps are to add more
disks to increase IOPS, use LAGG/LACP etc.

But a phased approach to narrow down performance issues would require
some monitoring to be in place. For all you know, your NFS server is
possibly maxed out.

Get some graphs in place. My personal favourite is collectd with an RRD fronted.
