[CANCELLED][VOTE] Release Apache Groovy 4.0.0-alpha-2

Posted by Paul King <pa...@asert.com.au>.
I'll try again. We could almost get away with describing a workaround in
the release notes, but better to fix anyway.

Paul.

Unfortunately, it seems versions.properties never made the src zip. I think
I'll have to re-roll.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Groovy 4.0.0-alpha-2

Posted by Guillaume Laforge <gl...@gmail.com>.
Hi Paul,

Any particular advice on building 4.0?

I had a build failure when trying to create the wrapper, as it seems my
local Gradle version was too ancient.

Once upgraded, I wanted to run ./gradlew test (with the latest Gradle), but
the build fails with:
(build scan: https://gradle.com/s/iinyezrvkygrw)

* Where:

Build file '/Users/glaforge/Downloads/groovy-4.0.0-alpha-2/build.gradle'
line: 46

* What went wrong:

An exception occurred applying plugin request [id: 'org.apache.groovy-core']

> Failed to apply plugin 'org.apache.groovy-asciidoctor'.

   > Cannot query the value of this provider because it has no value
available.
