Web Folders/Slide Error

After approx 2 weeks I still haven't managed to get Slide running. I would
appreciate any help with the following please:

Web Folders now connects top the Slide servlet via URL
http://host:port/slide/servlet/webdav

The foler appears on the explorer. When I double-click the folder to enter
it the following dialogue appears:

"The current operation cannot be completed because an unexpected error has
occured. For details see c:\TEMP\wecerr.txt. [OK Button]"

ln4d556uss:papianma:/home/papianma/cmd/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1/logs> #about to
double click on newly created webdav folder

Tomcat logs the following:

ln4d556uss:papianma:/home/papianma/cmd/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1/logs> 2001-05-22
02:21:34 - Ctx( /slide ): 404 R( /slide + /servlet + null) Not Found
22 May 2001 14:21:34 - WARNING - Not Found
22 May 2001 14:21:34 - INFO - PROPFIND (time: 149 ms) URI = /servlet
22 May 2001 14:21:34 - INFO - OPTIONS (time: 2 ms) URI = /servlet
2001-05-22 02:21:35 - Ctx( /slide ): 404 R( /slide + /servlet + null) Not
Found
22 May 2001 14:21:35 - WARNING - Not Found
22 May 2001 14:21:35 - INFO - PROPFIND (time: 20 ms) URI = /servlet

The file c:\TEMP\wecerr.txt  contains:
05/22/2001 14:20:51
HTTP 404 Not Found
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<TITLE>404 Not Found</TITLE>
</HEAD><BODY>
<H1>Not Found</H1>
The requested URL /_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc was not found on this
server.<P>
<HR>
<ADDRESS>Apache/1.3.17 Server at ln4d556uss.ldn.swissbank.com Port
9058</ADDRESS>
</BODY></HTML>

I have the following in tomcat-apache.conf:

Alias /slide "/home/papianma/cmd/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1/webapps/slide"
<Directory "/home/papianma/cmd/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1/webapps/slide">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
</Directory>
ApJServMount /slide/servlet /slide

All other files as default slide installation apart from uncommenting the
security constraint in web.xml and adding users/roles to Tomcat.

I have a suspicion that my Tomcat installation is not responding properly to
<url-pattern>'s that map servlets to URLs. Does this look like a possible
cause?

Thanks
Mark
