I think that 24 is the version introduced this bug but I am not sure.

This is not a bug. `///` is the line prefix for Markdown Javadoc. Editor support was added in #7491 Your `<` is presumably being seen as the opening of a tag.

Sometimes I use the comment button to quickly comment out code. If the code has already comments i use it more than once in order to uncomment it back easily, so I often use 4 of those ////, There could be a check for the javadoc code not to recognize as a doc anything that has more than 3 ///. Otherwise color hallucination is not that bad...
