   I would advice you to not use this plugin anyway because it uses navigator gps => not very useful for a native app.
   
   It seems that this plugin https://github.com/mauron85/cordova-plugin-background-geolocation , should NOT work too for Android orea and upper version, because it doesn't implement the new google class for geolocation.
   
   On our hand, we switch to https://github.com/transistorsoft/cordova-background-geolocation-lt , because we are only in beta phase (so free for now) and geolocation is a very important matter for our app. And it is working perfetcly. It was very easy to configurate and to use.
