RE: [users@httpd] Windows XP home edition, Apache, MySQL, and PHP install

Oops forgot to add,

Or aditional lines in the httpd.conf file. Have added the standard ones l
would use to get PHP running on a Win2k Pro box.

install

Well this is weird.

Still having to work from a retarded laptop install.

Apache installed no problems and is running happily as a service.

MySQL installed no problems and is running in client and service mode.

PHP 4.3.2 just doesn't want to know about XP home edition. Anyone know if
there's some weird setting that needs to be applied to the php.ini file?

It's not at all clear, from this cryptic message, exactly what problem
you are trying to solve. What do you mean by "doesn't want to know about
XP home edition."?

Exactly what is happening, and how does this differ from what you expect
to be happening? Are there any error messages (in the error log). What
is the undesired behavior?

In case you are trying to run a combination of Apache, PHP and MySQL, I
would suggest using FoxServ from www.sourceforge.com.
Very easy to learn the basics and start as they are not combined, just
installed together with defaults.

All the best,
Jeff Cohen
