[jira] [Updated] (AVRO-1586) Build against Hadoop 2
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-1586?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Tom White updated AVRO-1586:
----------------------------
Attachment: AVRO-1586.patch
Attaching a patch. In the end it was simplest to just make the Hadoop 2 build the default, and continue to allow builds against Hadoop 1.
I tested the tools jar against a Hadoop 2.5.1 cluster and it could successfully read an Avro file from it.

> Hadoop 2 has been available for a long time now so we should switch to build against it. With this change the avro-mapred and trevni-avro JARs would not work on Hadoop 1 clusters.
