   Left out lockfile edits as requested. I'd prefer someone who actually understands the `pinCopyToSource()` stuff this adds. Copilot who reviewed it obviously understood it, and I conceptually understand some of it, and see the effects. 
   
   Leaving it open for potentially a few more eyes and a +1
