[jira] [Commented] (HIVE-4591) Making changes to webhcat-site.xml have no effect

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-4591?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13684019#comment-13684019 ]

Eugene Koifman commented on HIVE-4591:
--------------------------------------

Changed webhcat_config.sh to check webhcat-site.xml (in addition to webhcat-env.sh) when calculating default value for WEBHCAT_CONF_DIR.

Tested manually by changing templeton.port in uild/dist/hcatalog/etc/webhcat/webhcat-site.xml. Templeton then listens on this port.

> Looks like WebHCat configuration is read as follows:
> Configuration: core-default.xml, core-site.xml, mapred-default.xml, mapred-site.xml, jar:file:/Users/ekoifman/dev/hive/build/dist/hcatalog/share/webhcat/svr/webhcat-0.12.0-SNAPSHOT.jar!/webhcat-default.xml
> creating /Users/ekoifman/dev/hive/build/dist/hcatalog/etc/webhcat/webhcat-site.xml and setting templeton.exec.timeout has no effect as can be seen in ExecServiceImpl
> Probably the webhcat_server.sh script is missing something
