[jira] Commented: (VELOCITY-646) Change default foreach iterator initial value to 0

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VELOCITY-646?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12650056#action_12650056 ]

Nathan Bubna commented on VELOCITY-646:
---------------------------------------

I believe it was the idea that template "designers" should not be expected to expect the "count from zero" that programmers expect. I think, though, that most of our users are programmers of a sort. Definitely something to reconsider for 2.0.

> Currently the default value for:
> String COUNTER_INITIAL_VALUE = "directive.foreach.counter.initial.value";
> is set to 1... I'm not sure what the motivation is for this, but I believe that 0 is the more appropriate default.
