I tried SunStudio 11 on Solaris 10 x86, and I see that the .so file is very small (3 Kb or so); running nm on it shows that it does export just a bunch of standard C++ symbols. I have found that starting with SunStudio 9 there is the possibility to hide entry points, so maybe we should ensure that the proper flag (xldscope=global) is specified. Can someone more expert with SunStudio comment on this?
