[Issue 125990] New: Processes are started with user interaction when looking for a Java runtime environment

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125990

          Issue ID: 125990
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Processes are started with user interaction when
looking for a Java runtime environment
           Product: General
           Version: 4.2.0-dev
          Hardware: Mac
                OS: Mac OSX, 10.9
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: thorsten.wagner.4@gmail.com
                CC: hdu@apache.org

When looking for a Java runtime environment within the Preferences / OpenOffice
/ Java dialog a process per installed JRE seems to be started with user
interaction. This causes icons displayed for a short time within OS X dock.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Open Preferences / OpenOffice / Java dialog

(2) Select "Use a Java runtime environment"

Desired behaviour:

Processes should be started without user interaction. This is possible with OS
X. Without user interaction (headless) no icons are flashing within OS X dock.

The problem appears on Mac OS X 10.9 with OpenOffice 4.2 revision 1648122 from
trunk, but seems to exist in earlier revisions too.
