You've spent more time whining on bugzilla then you would reporting it to infra
yourself.

OK one can update it by doing a new search, customizing it, then at the bottom
'save last search' to the same name. Gawd.

how many different bugtrackers are they "maintaining" - looks like SA and the
dead openoffice ones are the only projects using that broken piece

> It isn't stopping code from being generated

you may think so

enforce reporters to bookmark every bugreport because otherwise they won't find
them ever again leads to less qualitiy reports and duplicates and since this is
the only bugtracker on this planet which don't work

"RESOLVED LATER" - seriously?

what broken bugzilla version is this since it's the only one on this planet
where "My Bugs" shows a useless list back to 2011 with a hint "filtered to 500
results" which implies otherwise it would just show *all bugs* ever reported

Really, this thread should have stopped at "the SA project doesn't
maintain the bug tracker".

Well, my statement was glib. We may be volunteers but we take pride in our
work.

But complaining doesn't help. If you don't like how something is done, pickup
the baton and run with it.

It goes to the ASF infra team.

I've tracked the problem down to a corrupted parameter value used for the My
Bugs query on the admin config page. Somehow, ~10 spaces got inserted into the
middle of the query template which messed things up.

I'll note that the issue was resolved within a few hours of someone actually
telling infra there was a problem.

where the hell report it to "infra itself"

you still don't get the point that it is not my job to ensure infra of whatever
project works in a useable way - especially when you aregue with "volunteers" -
do i get paied for seeking where to report each piece of each software?

OK it seems I have saved a search,
but on
https://bz.apache.org/SpamAssassin/userprefs.cgi?tab=saved-searches
there is no way to reset or edit or delete it.
Maybe on some unlinked page there is.

I can confirm that clicking on "My Bugs" now returns a very short list of bugs.
I have never overwritten the "My Bugs" saved search.

The project doesn't maintain bugzilla, the ASF umbrella does and this is
frankly not a very high priority. It isn't stopping code from being generated.

I'm sorry it's affecting you but there are bigger fish to fry IMO.

"The project doesn't maintain bugzilla, the ASF umbrella does" - so has anybody
from the SA project ever contacted them or is "you can always volunteer to help
infrastructure for ASF and fix it" just a blanket statement meaning "i don't
care"

I'm sorry if you or jidanni feel that way. I don't and see it as just being
realistic. It's a volunteer effort and I can tell you I see no reason to
escalate it at this time. If it bugs you that much, you can always volunteer
to help infrastructure for ASF and fix it.

But complaining to volunteers is basically going to get the response that you
can dock my pay if you don't like the work.

Also note at the bottom of *this very page*:

"This is SA Bugzilla: the Apache SpamAssassin bug system. In case of problems
with the functioning of SA Bugzilla, please contact bugzilla-admin@apache.org.
Please Note: this e-mail address is only for reporting problems with SA
Bugzilla."

However, I don't know whether that goes to Apache Infra or someone on the SA
team who may not be able to do anything about it. I've sent a message to that
address asking for someone to take a look and see whether the SA bugzilla is
stale and can be upgraded (which might fix the filtering issue). If that just
comes back to the SA team, then I'll open an Infra Jira ticket.

From what I've seen the outcome Harald seems to often want is an argument,
so... yes?

"Does your complaining to volunteers"
"why I won't reinforce your bad behavior"

well, normally i expect issues to taken seriously and there is no difference
between volunteers and paied people - normally it would be enough to just
report a issue - in case of the SA project *everything* is taken as "oh no we
are perfect and pride, don't bother us - fix whatever in your glue, for us it
works perfectly, go away" FROM THE FIRST MOMENT - so be happy about your pride
and broken bugtracker...

There's this amazing technology called Google. Allow me to google that for
you.

https://www.google.com/search?q=reporting+issues+to+infra+apache&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Does your complaining to volunteers like this normally get you the outcome you
want? You should read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies and
understand why I won't reinforce your bad behavior.
