user name
I registered as a user yesterday, but forgot my user name. I have the
password, but didn't take note of the user name. Please advise as I've
been trying to get through on other links and cannot do anything without
the user name.

Where did you register? OpenOffice does not require user registration.
Maybe you registered for BugZilla https://issues.apache.org/ooo/ or for
the Extensions site http://extensions.openoffice.org/ or for the
Templates site http://templates.openoffice.org/ ? In all three cases,
registration is required only if you want to upload content, and there
are facilities to have a new password sent to you by e-mail. In any
case, please tell us where you registered, since "registering as a user"
was disabled a couple of years ago.

OK. I am a Bugzilla admin, so I can confirm that you recently created
a Bugzilla account.
You can reset your password by entering your email address to the top
right of this page, and then clicking "reset password":
