Summary: OS X version not working with zeroconf
Product: Log4j
Version: unspecified
Platform: Macintosh
OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: chainsaw
AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
ReportedBy: igotimac@gmail.com
I just wanted to let you know that the Chainsaw at:
http://logging.apache.org/log4j/docs/webstart/chainsaw/chainsaw.dmg
does not work with Zeroconf
while the Chainsaw at:
http://logging.apache.org/log4j/docs/webstart/chainsaw/chainsaw-bundle.zip
does work
I think you need to update the OS X version you are providing with the latest jars in chainsaw-bundle.zip

Major feature is broken, increasing severity. I tried putting the chainsaw jar
file in $HOME/Library/Java and it still did not find it.

I have confirmed that the online .dmg version does indeed now ship with the
log4j-zeroconf.jar bundled inside, so I believe this is fixed.
Please re-open if it is not working for you.

Yes, I think the new .dmg distribution should work much better. Be keen to see
if it does for you.

there was a problem with the dmg (missing zeroconf jar). This has been fixed
