Ode Website

Hi,

I'd like to propose the following structure for Ode's website. It's fairly
standard and basically looks like any other site you can find at the ASF. I
think this is going to be our left menu and then we'll be able to populate
each of the sections with actual documentation and some nice words about
Ode.

   - Project
      - Introduction
      - License
      - News (will be the home)
      - Getting Ode (checkout and build until we have a release, will
      then become download & install)
      - Documentation
      - FAQ
      - User Guide (deploying an example, sending messages, ...)
      - Developer's Guide (management doc, deployment specs, jacob
      doc, other specs, ...)
      - Related specs, projects and tools (a bunch of links)
      - Wiki
      - Javadoc
      - Contributing
      - Mailing Lists (with some generic guidelines)
      - Source code
      - Bugs (to Jira)
      - Contributors (us)

I'll clean up our home at some point this week and will build the menu with
links pointing to a lot of empty pages. Then we'll see who volunteers to
fill up some of these sections...

Cheers,

Matthieu

Well do that when we'll have a distro... but meanwhile I'll make it bold.

You should make the "download" link bold and go directly to the latest
build. I hate these Apache projects where I have to search--for what seems
like an eternity--to find the latest build.

Once Matthieu will have laid out the initial structure, I think efforts
could focus on two areas:

* Getting Started and Tutorial sections to attract more users and developers
* Migrating relevant content from http://pxe.intalio.org

Re: Ode Website

Posted by Matthieu Riou <ma...@gmail.com>.
All,

I've added the left menu bar on our Confluence and created the first
structure. Most things lead to no existing pages so there's a lot to add.
Mainly:

- Introduction
- FAQ (still the old PXE one)
- User guide
- Developer guide
- Links
- Mailing lists
- Contributor

Any volunteer? Feel free to modify / enhance any page I've already created
as well. For some reason the export doesn't reflect the new structure (I
have to get a bit more information about it) so go directly to:

http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/ODExSITE

Victor I think you can start from the "Getting Ode" page for the tutorial.
That should be a good start.

Thanks,

Matthieu

Hi,

I'm currently doing some clean up and seeing if we can extend the edit
rights to anybody willing to register. Then if you're up to it Victor, maybe
you could start working on a tutorial. As you already knew Twister but don't
know Ode it would be nice to see which steps you have problem with to get up
and running and then write a doc about it.

What do you think?

Matthieu
