[jira] Commented: (LUCENE-2396) remove version from core and contrib analyzers.

DM Smith commented on LUCENE-2396:
----------------------------------

Hmmm. If we are moving stuff out of core and into contrib, don't we need to have a version that matches 3.0 for a first release?

I can't put my finger on it but something seems like it will come back to bite.

> Contrib/analyzers has no backwards-compatibility policy, so let's remove Version so the API is consumable.
> if you think we shouldn't do this, then instead explicitly state and vote on what the backwards compatibility policy for contrib/analyzers should be instead, or move it all to core.
