Confluence / auto-export (or whatever it is called) broken?
Does anyone have any sort of intimate knowledge of the process that
exports from confluence and copies to
people.a.o:/www/struts.apache.org/2.x/docs ?
If you look at the redirect-action-result.html page, it still shows
the non-camel-cased redirect-action, rather than redirectAction. But,
if you click edit, you'll see that it uses the snippet plugin to pull
the example from the javadoc in the source file. I checked the source
file and it is correct, so I went back to confluence and clicked edit
again. From there, if you click preview, you see the correct
'redirectAction' in the example. Yesterday, I went through all of this
and clicked save anyways in confluence, thinking maybe it just needed
to get touched so that a new copy could be pushed to people.a.o. I
just checked this morning and it is still showing redirect-action.

Yeah, I think I brought this up once too, specifically w/ snippets. Not
sure what the issue is, though.

Ok, but how do we trigger it? If it's supposed to be automatically
triggered (or when doing a release), then we have to make sure it runs
a bit more often.
Wasn't there some sort of label that could be applied? I seem to
recall something like that.

Search the list, I asked once and Martin explained that there is some
sort of script the does the exporting for all the apache projects with
a confluence wiki.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. Don't know anything more about it.

I just did a manual rebuild using the Auto Export Plugin config UI, and I
saw it export that page. I don't have a login on the box that runs
Confluence, so I can't check to see if the plugin is not generating the
right content, or if the mechanism that copies the pages from that box to
people.a.o is the culprit. You might want to ask on infrastructure@a.o or on
#asfinfra and see if someone can check for you.

Martin, it'd be easy to check... look at this page -
http://struts.apache.org/2.x/docs/redirect-action-result.html
Right now, the result type="redirect-action" but if it were properly pulling
the snippet from the source code, it would be "redirectAction"
Check it before you kick off a manual export, then check that page again
after...
Another thought... are the files in people.a.o:/www/struts.a.o/2.x/docs
actually served, or aren't they copied hourly to an upstream server that does
the actual serving of http content? Maybe the problem isn't confluence, maybe
there is a problem with the process that publishes further upstream.
(checking the actual contents of people.a.o/www/struts.a.o/2.x/docs...)
nope the file has 'redirect-action' in it, so it's definitely
confluence/snippet/autoexport

Intimate knowledge, no. A general idea, yes.
As mentioned, there is a Confluence plugin (Auto Export Plugin) that is
installed and manages exporting of somewhere around 130 different spaces so
that they can be accessed as web sites. The plugin can be configured by
anyone who has admin on cwiki.a.o (and I can give any PMC member admin), but
the config options are pretty limited. The per-space options are based on a
template that can be provided (or defaulted). I'm not sure what the period
of exporting is, but I can kick off a manual rebuild for the Struts spaces
right now. If that doesn't fix the problem, I'm not sure what's next.
