[jira] [Created] (AMBARI-3711) Installer wizard: Zookeeper service
should be a requirement for Hive+WebHcat service.
Oleg Nechiporenko created AMBARI-3711:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Installer wizard: Zookeeper service should be a requirement for Hive+WebHcat service.
Key: AMBARI-3711
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-3711
Project: Ambari
Issue Type: Bug
Components: client
Affects Versions: 1.4.1
Reporter: Oleg Nechiporenko
Assignee: Oleg Nechiporenko
Fix For: 1.4.1
On HDP-1.x stack, we can install a cluster with Hive+WebHcat service without zookeeper service. HCatalog can store metadata either in HDFS or Zookeeper depending on the value of property _templeton.storage.class_. We set it to _ZooKeeperStorage_ in stack definition as this is recommended by the HCat component.
Not having zookeeper service with the property _templeton.storage.class_ set to _ZooKeeperStorage_ might be a serious problem.
Note: Ambari 1.2.0 release had zookeeper as a required service for Hive+WebHcat service.
