[jira] [Created] (SPARK-12578) Parser should not silently ignore
the distinct keyword used in an aggregate function when OVER clause is used
Reynold Xin created SPARK-12578:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Parser should not silently ignore the distinct keyword used in an aggregate function when OVER clause is used
Key: SPARK-12578
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-12578
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Sub-task
Components: SQL
Reporter: Reynold Xin
Right now, when an aggregate function is used as window function and DISTINCT is used, Hive's parser silently drop the DISTINCT keyword. It is fine to not support DISTINCT aggregation in window function. But, it is not good to silently drop the keyword.
