No network bridges started in Network of brokers.

Hi,

i have a Network of 6 nodes in 3 datacenters, each one connected to every
other server.
upon startup some (currently 2) servers don't start network bridges for some
other servers. As a consequence those servers are unaware of consumers on
other nodes and don't distribute the messages they get to these servers.

there are no log messages.

Can i force the creation of network bridges via jmx?
Should i configure something beside the networkConnector in my config file?

I finally figured out what went wrong. because I'm using replication in my
cluster nodes the nodes use the failover transport for the network
connectors (see my config). Unfortunately this is buggy in this scenario
(see activemq jira https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-3575)

To fix this i will fall back to one network connector per master and one
network connector per slave. This will clutter my logfiles (as the slaves
will not accept connections until their master fails) but it will work (it
was my original config)

Thanks for the help.

Right - I believe thats called a mesh topology which is similar to what I
have setup with the exception that I am using 6 brokers to scale out a bit
more horizontally. Here is a good example setup from the mcollective
project. Its pretty much exactly what you are looking for I believe. And
yes I think you need duplex enabled to maintain the openwire connection
between all the brokers in the mesh.

i'm trying to create a hypercube (6 servers in 3 nodes (master+slave)).

3 has connections to 1,2
2 has connections to 1,3
1 has connections to 2,3

but the activemq doesn't create bridges to all servers so it doesn't get
advisories from them. no advisories means no awarenes of consumers on these
servers. so the server without bridges doesn't send his messages through the
cluster.

do you think turning on duplex would fix this?

Are you looking to do a mesh? Not sure your config looks right and I
believe you need a TTL of at least 2 with duplex enabled. Think of a
minimum 3 nodes setup, your config for each node should have
networkConnectors pointing to each other to maintain the mesh and ability
to failover. As you scale out more nodes, just continue to layer the
networkConnectors pointing to each other. Thats how my setup is now with
(6) nodes spread out across my datacenters.

Node 1)
A -> B
A -> C

Node 2)
B -> A
B -> C

Node 3)
C -> A
C -> B

My Config for Cluster-Node 03 (Replication-Master)
http://pastebin.com/9iztG67D
TTL is default (documentation says thats 1), no duplex

every cluster node uses pure master slave.

Can you share you activemq.xml on a pastebin? What is your TTL? do you
have duplex enabled?
