[jira] [Created] (INFRA-5909) Auto-delete comment thread after X days

Mathijs Schmittmann created INFRA-5909:
------------------------------------------

Summary: Auto-delete comment thread after X days
                 Key: INFRA-5909
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-5909
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: New Feature
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Comments
            Reporter: Mathijs Schmittmann
            Priority: Minor

To avoid having to keep track of the comments that were deemed invalid or Q&A questions, and coming back later to clean them up (delete them), it would be nice to have a checkbox 'Delete after 3 days' that can be checked when posting a reply to a comment. (using 3 as an example here)

This should result in a much less messy comments section :)

Possible implementation:
After submitting a reply with this checkbox checked, the comment thread that was replied to would be marked as to-be-deleted and a timestamp would be added on which the deletion should take place. A daily cronjob would check this timestamp and delete the comment thread if needed.
