   @smoyer64 this change should be backwards compatible with the previous.  I looked into switching to jsonb, but that is a bit of work as ScimResourceDeserializer would need to be replaced Jackson doesn't support jsonb yet (well the jaxrs reader/writer doesn't).
   
   We probably should go that route, we might need to pick a default impl too (Apache Johnzon?). That is probably a good dev list topic.  
   That said, I'd like to see this change (or similar) get in so the project can be with Apache Tomee until then).
