> After cleaning out cleared SoftReferences from the SymbolTable, the remaining set of symbols may be far smaller than the number of buckets in the table. If this has dropped to below 25% of the load factor for the table it would be a good idea to compact it and free up more memory, so we're not wasting so much space.
